Why Tučepi?

Tučepi is known precisely for the longest beach on the Makarska Riviera, which is more than 3 kilometers long, with a beautiful promenade under pine trees.

The soccer field and tennis center 'Slatina' with as many as five playgrounds, a large number of catering establishments contribute to the rich tourist offer of Tučep, which year after year receive prestigious awards for the high quality of their catering and tourist services and for the decoration of the place.

Tučepi was mentioned for the first time in the 'Kreševo Charter' in 1434. Near the hotel "Neptun" is the church of St. Jurja from the 13th century, built on the foundations of the Roman 'villae rusticae' from the 2nd century. Legend has it that Venetian Doge Petar Kandiano was buried there after the lost naval battle with the people of Neret and the people of Omiš near Makarska in 887. Three defensive towers at the foot of Biokovo, from the 18th century, have also been preserved: Šarić, Bušelić and Lalić towers, in the settlements of the same name, which were used to defend against Turkish attacks.

Because of the beautiful view, local culinary specialties and quality wines, tourists often visit the hamlets in Gornji Tučepi.
